First of all, the Alaska pants are done, Woohoo! They were packaged up tonight and will be off to their new home tomorrow morning I am so grateful to J. for giving me the chance to make such a special item. The aurora, polar bear, penguins and constellation are all reminders of the state where her little guy was born

So what am I working on now? K’s pants are on the needles. And I also started a cardigan for Jules using Lion Brand’s Homespun.
I’m using a modified version of the one-stitch baby cardigan. I don’t like the ‘bat-wing’ effect so I just knit a rectangle for the back, then cast on the stitches for the sleeves. I was a bit concerned about the cast-on because I thought I remembered reading in Righetti’s book about not using a thumb cast-on for a bunch of stitches, but I did it anyway and it seems to be just fine. Between the garter stitch and the textured yarn, I don’t think it will make a bit of difference.
I also have one more project up my sleeve, but it’s a surprise
I think I’m going to have to start a colorway gallery on the KSS site so I have somewhere to post these yummy pics
