Babies all over :)

Filed under: General — Karen @ 2:40 pm

We have two sets of good friends having babies in the next month or so. Here’s a peek at what they’re getting: Kate Gilbert bunnies and milk markers. What are milk markers? Well, I made the name up, but not the idea. They’re just little decorated rings that a nursing mom can slip onto her bra strap to remind her which side to start the next feeding on. I wish I’d had one of these when I was nursing. It always seemed to take a whole lot of brain power to remember which side we’d left off on.

These bunnies are *so* much cuter when knit with boucle yarn and sewn with the purl side out. I love the way they look 🙂

And while I had my jewelry-making kit out, I decided to finish this bracelet, which has been sitting in there half-finished since before the kids were born:

The directions were in a beading magazine which I lost a long time ago, but as I recall, I was supposed to slip memory wire into all of the large beads on the sides, with smaller beads in between. But when I tried that, I didn’t like the look of it, so I’ve left it loose. I like the fringe-y effect of having the heads hanging off the sides.

As for KSS knitting, that’s going to have to be on the back burner for a while longer. I’m concentrating on some Hyena Cart upgrades and gearing up for a training class that I’m enrolled for in the fall which won’t leave any free time for anything. I am on the hook for two more bunnies for Jules and Iggy. And Jules would also like a set of milk markers to use as earrings 😉
