Knittin’ up some warm woolies

So about two months ago, Katie from Wool Food Market sent me a little surprise: a skein of hand-dyed Targhee (didn’t know she dyes yarn too, did you?). The colorway could *not* be more perfect for me. I absolutely love it. Although I’m usually sensitive to wool, I decided the Targhee is soft enough that I could risk knitting up a hat and scarf for myself. And I’m glad I did. I’m having no trouble at all wearing my new goodies:

The hat’s another swatch cap (my favorite easy hat pattern), and the scarf is a bulky-knit (but skinny) Clapotis. Can I add again that I *love* this colorway? The deep wine reds, the caramels, the rusts… Thanks Katie! *mwah*

I also finished a couple little pairs of mittens for the kiddos during the craziness at work the past few months. Julia’s are in Magnolia and Isaac’s are in Ben An. I attached each pair with a cord and it makes me indescribably happy to see them running around in the backyard with their mittens dangling down from their sleeves. Here’s a pic of Jules with her mittens. Isaac’s fell in the mud yesterday and need to be washed 😉

(The scarf was knit by Nana).

The KSS sabbatical is continuing for now. I think I need the break over the holidays, and am also still spending a big chunk of time working on HC. In the meantime, I’m actually making progress on St. Brigid. Maybe I’ll even finish it for this season??
